Unrequited Love

Queen City of the South, you are an unrequited love
that  G. G. Marquez would say is the greatest
but needless to say, is a burden of many
and of me

while a newspaper man hands out
the latest though his eyes is telling
of last years unclaimed dreams.

There are only attempts to fulfill the Queen City
one would be constant anticipation of promotional rates
for online bookings
only to secure site of what could have been

while another woman utters "sorry" for the first time.

One satisfactory act convinces a city
to change its skeleton
though five times a MOA could have been interesting;
a simple statement
no poetry
but something to just wonder about.

while a papaya tree reveals a fruit
not as yellow but is present, at least.

When does a woman of high ambition compromise
when a man who needs to pull down
the cloud of books on the floor
to just cuddle up reading the lines
has already decided

while dinner is ready.
