There is aesthetics in everything. photo by Glorypearl Dy |
'There is poetry in everything'
Or was it 'aesthetics' that you said
That is present even in Dentistry,
That way porcelain is a more admirable sight
To cover a cavity, sculpt seamlessly
To fit inside the hole, and shape in,
As if cracks did not happen in the former
From consistent rejection
‘We do not need to bet love’
Or was it just a sentence
That you said after I asked ‘Want to bet?’
As a way to entice you into a conversation
About the possibilities of us
That we seem to think was already present
‘A prediction said that I would marry a woman with a kid,
but I can do better than that, all doctors do,' you said
but I can do better than that, all doctors do,' you said
But it was the next line
That made me appreciate an abrupt beating of my heart,
Almost disorderly satisfying,
As you said: ‘Prediction has it that I would love a woman older than I am’
‘Everything just happened’,
You whispered that line
After saying that ‘This is the best experience I’ve had’
And so it did as I, spontaneously,
Uttered the words ‘I’m afraid to love you because I hurt
myself if I do’
And you answered ‘We can just do this once a week’
Which made me remember my root canal treatments and the need for intervals
Which made me remember my root canal treatments and the need for intervals
I have to say:
The two years away from your time has carved a crevice
From my soul, part of it extracted
While a permanent prosthesis of regrets were administered
But your temporary filling relieves every trace of pain
Although I need permanence, but I prefer this, for the time
being
To put it in your terms:
Like the preservation of beauty in every field
It is easy to love you
Before the advent of anesthesia in dentistry
When aesthetics need a little pain
It is easy to love you
Before the advent of anesthesia in dentistry
When aesthetics need a little pain
